Welcome to our January 2008 e-newsletter.
This year we have a pilgrimage adventure to the Kalahari and also
two new shorter courses focussing on very specific areas and issues
– Circle of Mirrors and Rites of Passage/Visionquest.
Howard has posted new videos and photographs of the recent retreat
to the Amazon.
He has a new journey to the Philippines coming up in January and
continues his Amazon and Andean retreats to Peru in March and
July.
Leo and Howard would like to take this opportunity to personally

Philippines: The Enigma of Psychic Surgery in the
Philippines |

The 'bare hand' or 'psychic' surgeons of the
Philippines have been one of the most enduring enigmas of modern
times. There has been much controversy about the so-called
miracle healers of the Philippines. Their ability to open
peoples bodies and perform operations without the use of any
surgical equipment i.e. their bare hands and subsequently the
skin of their patient re-seals without any noticeable marking or
scars defies not only conventional medical and scientific
knowledge but also flies in the face of what we consensually
call reality. How can a human body open and close by touch? How
can solid objects become permeable to allow a hand to move
through it?
Placido Palitayan
Placido is a healer and psychic surgeon working in Baguio. He is
an extremely confident and skilled psychic surgeon. It was again a
privilege to meet, interview, make videos, and work with him. I
have a full interview on video with Placido, with videos of his
healing which I recorded on my trip this July / August. For those
who are interested in experiencing this unique form of healing,

Andean & Amazon Retreat
Programme 2008 |
Introduction
We are pleased to present dedicated programmes
in the Andes and the Amazon rainforest, which is focussed on an
inner and deep self-exploration and encounter with the spiritual
power of the land. This is an adventure into the magical world
of the Andes, the Rainforest, and a transformative experience of
the ancient mystical rituals of the plant spirit medicines.
Over the last years
we have included an ad-hoc yoga component on our retreats working with different
teachers. Since we have been working closer with Eugene Bersuker we have decided
to integrate this fully into our Retreat programme. Our experience with
yoga retreats has been very positive and there is definitely a synergy between
the practices.

Spiritual Traditions of the Andes.

Amazon Retreat Programme
July 19th - August 2nd incl. - Amazon Retreat, Ayahuasca, and
Plant Spirit Medicines.
August 3rd - 9th incl. - Optional Extension week.
Andean Retreat Programme
March 8th - 14th incl.
As a prologue to the Amazon retreat this optional week expands on
our work with the shamanic tradition of the Andes. Working
with San Pedro Maestro Shaman Juan Navarro, and Coca Leaf Diviner
& traditional Healer Doris Rivera Lenz. This is an opportunity
to experience the rich and powerful spiritual legacy of the
Andean civilization which is only now being properly recognised
after 500 years of obscurity.
