The nights are drawing in and the life force of the earth in the northern hemisphere is being drawn inward for rest and renewal. It is the Dreamtime part of our cycle round the wheel of life.

Personal Development & Practitioner Training in THE MEDICINE WHEEL

A technique of transformation connecting personal process to the cycles of the cosmos
This unique course is for people who seek a map of life’s great journey and wish to work in depth with the medicine wheel both for themselves and /or as a practitioner.
The Star Maiden’s Circle sits within The Twenty Count which is the foundation Medicine Wheel describing the workings of the Cosmos. It shows the connection of the greater and the lesser and that all are parts of one great unfolding cosmic life process. This Medicine comes from ancient Central American shamanistic teachings and is a map of life in a circular form. It relates our personal life process to the greater cosmological process of Spirit/Energy and the elemental/archetypal powers which govern the Universe, to the pressures and opportunities that move a human being, and thus all humanity, through experience of life on earth.
The Ancients saw their world in terms of circles and cycles and time as circular rather than linear. Medicine wheels teach of the human's place in the natural order and of the purpose of life. They show the powers that hold the Universe in balance.
The Star Maiden’s Circle unravels our life issues, shows us the source of them and guides us to potent places where we can effect change. It shows how we tend to get caught in the powerlessness of chasing our own tail (i.e. self- limiting patterns and habits) and how to become the authority for ourselves, to take responsibility and master our circumstances. This is path of the hero/ine who challenges demons and conquers for the good of all at whatever risk to self.
THE AIM OF THIS COURSE
We will teach this ancient tool in a contemporary way so that participants will be able to use it both with individual clients and as a personal tool of transformation.
Our way of teaching is to help you gain an embodiment of the map and the powers of the eight directions within yourself in a way that takes you beyond just understanding into an instinctual knowing. We will take you to explore the archetypal energies that underlie human experience and to experience their effect on you as an individual.
We will work with an in depth use of altered states including the shamanic journey, direct experience of the archetypal energies and holding a healing space for yourself and/or your client.
This is a unique course that works with the therapeutic knowledge of the human process as a part of the spiritual/energetic structure of the Cosmos. This enables a transformation of our isolation and separateness into a recognition of our unity with all existence - from “ALONE to ALL - ONE”.

A day of shamanic journeying, ‘seeing’ the shamanic way, understanding the elements of the Medicine Wheel.
Shamanism is not a belief system but a way of knowledge - that which is known from inside and which stands up to the test of time.

‘THE MEDICINE WHEEL’ - Weekend workshop in Edinburgh

How useful is it to have a map when you travel? Are you happy travelling blind or would you rather have a map of the territory?
The Medicine Wheel is a stunningly wonderful multi-dimensional map of the territory of life. Once we understand and integrate the wheel and its meanings into our subtle body, we can place any issue on it and feel the forces at work, the challenges brought.
Medicine wheels have been used for teaching about the cosmos and how it works since antiquity. They teach the natural order of things, of the human's place in the world and the deep purpose of life.
The Twenty (Children’s) Count teaches of the relationship of humans to the cosmos and the Star Maiden’s Circle is a profound tool for understanding our psyches and unravelling life issues. It is our human process in a circle and as we traverse around the circle we gain illumination and understanding of our lives and compassion for our self in our daily challenges.
