Hi folks.
Well – summer is here and Grandfather Sun is warming our part of the world after that heavy winter. Feels nice!
We have added some courses this year including a new one – ‘
Earth Child – Transforming the wounded child into the magical child’
This ‘South’ work is not always addressed in shamanic circles yet it is most important as if we do not heal our baggage, it has a way of following us around the wheel whatever direction we are working in. This is a serious intensive course for those who seek to heal past influences.
And - Call of the Earth – brings the deep embrace of the Great Mother. The Earth calls to woman to hear her rhythm again, to hear the flow of change. (For women only – sadly says Leo!)

 The primary theme of this course is learning to create and hold a space for healing. This involves making deep connection with yourself and your guides in the non-physical realms, it involves being entirely trustworthy to your clients so they feel able to open up, unload and put their truths on the table. To so this we guide you through experiences of the place of trust and innocence, beyond mind and thinking, where one becomes a hollow bone through which healing energy comes.

Women's Summer Solstice Fire Ceremony 2010

Summer Solstice is a time in our cycle of life's seasons when there is the most light - the time when we all burn the brightest - our energies are naturally full and out there - and manifest.
Summer Solstice is a time of fullness, of heightenend creativity - it is a time when creation comes to maturity, the climax in the cycle of life. We invite you to come and enjoy this moment in summer, experiencing and being inspired by nature and allowing her to mirror your own creativity/life force. Take time to explore how your unique energy is manifest in the world.
We will work with practices that bring you in tune with the Earth and help you recognise and experience through your own perception the living force in, and connecting, all things. When you connect with this energy it can leave you with a sense of well being, of being nurtured and revitalized.
Accommodation will be in an all season Yurt, Dome and bender all with wood burning stoves, carpets and mattresses. There are hot outdoor showers and earth toilets. We also have the use of the facilities of a house and a beautiful converted Barn to work in. In our grounds we have a medicine wheel of trees and stones, a pond and quiet places to be and a hammock between two old Oaks. There are also wonderful walks through woods and fields via the Cuckoo Trail.

Firebird Trance- is Afro-Brazilian Dance Medicine Magic. It is a unique path into healing and alternate reality. Through the glorious wild abandon and seeming chaos of the Trance-Dance, a new sense of Self and connection with the Universal Order can be realised.
 Trance-Dance is an ancient healing tradition, as old as humanity. The Dance takes us naturally and effortlessly from thinking to being, melting into oneness with existence. The Rhythm of the Drum - the heartbeat of Mother Earth - guides the dancer to the magic healing place of deep trance. By inviting Spirit to dance through us, we come to a place of ease with our true nature and can experience the world through the lens of ecstasy, perceiving our-self as part of the Universal Playful Being enjoying The Cosmic Dance.
This form of Trance-Dance is derived from the traditions of West Africa and the Afro-Brazilian cultures, specifically the Candomble and Umbanda, and also the Gnawa Moroccan tradition, all of which have their roots in West Africa. In the background is the unique dancing way of Gabrielle Roth.
This workshop will move you profoundly towards the truth of yourself and your life. The Trance-Dance is a magical catalyst for all sorts to happen and patterns to shift. It enables you to sweep away confusion and delusion and to penetrate to the heart of yourself and to connect with your soul’s divine purpose.

DANCING THE DREAM THROUGH SOUND AND MOVEMENT

 DANCING THE DREAM. Dance/movement is a wonderful way to ‘Stop the Mind’ and to experience the magic within us. It is a highly effective way to allow our emotions to come up and to move them through - we can be in laughter and tears, rage and joy side by side. Through our bodies, we can reach deep places of transformation, we can enter the places in us that are beyond words enabling movement of energy, release, change and insight into ourselves and our learned internal structures.
The term “Dance” (just as singing) can make some of shy away, reminding us of “Dance” at school or the awkwardness of trying to look good amongst the John Travoltas on the dance floors of young adulthood. To our ancestors and indigenous people of today, the act that we term “dance” is natural movement to connect through the body to the deeper self and our spirit-essence. Dancing and Singing have always been and are still used to celebrate, invoke, mourn, and to keep life’s energies moving.
‘If I can talk I can sing, if I can walk I can dance’ African saying
VOICE: The freedom of voice brings liberation of our expression. It enables us to move “In Tune” with ourselves and our surroundings and to find the place of peace within.
ECSTACY AND JOY: Our ancestors (and the indigenous people of today) found Ecstasy (joy, happiness, bliss, excitement, pleasure, elation through trance states. This experience of the divine/energy field takes us into deep feelings of renewal and refreshment.

“No harm must come to the children” This is an ancient saying that comes from a deep knowledge of caretaking for our earth and for all living creatures ….including ourselves.
Our childhood is a time when we can learn that we are an integral part of life, part of the community/collective. It is time when we are at our most sensitive, open, vulnerable, trusting, inquisitive and loving.
What happened to these places in you?
Over recent course of history we have collectively undermined our children, fed them (that’s you and me)! with a sense of fear and scarcity on all levels – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This isn’t always in your face; often it is very subtle, eating away at our sense of self worth and self esteem.
What are the symptoms of this in us, in our society? Ever felt not good enough? That you are not up to it? Ever felt unlovable and unloved? Ever stepped back when you wanted to step forward? Withdrawn when you really wanted to be part of? Or do you fill your life with lots of activity yet you still feel empty? Are you ever fully at peace?
When the here and now is not OK, we invariably have to look back to our early years. We call it ‘doing the work of the South’, ‘erasing personal history’, the south being the place of the child. The ‘Work’ is to bring the child back to his/her healthy state of trust and innocence, the knowing that we have a right to our place in family/community, where we are loved and respected, a place within our self that is at peace.
We invite you to come and do this work with us. This is an intensive course and will push your ‘comfort zones’ in order to get to a place of much greater freedom within.

There was a time when women used to vision for the Community. We would be part of moon lodges and other circles of women that held the women’s mysteries, where we were in direct connection to the earth and her cycles. We used to listen to the Earth, we used to listen to life and hear/intuit the subtle movements in life’s flow so the human community would easily move with the changing rhythms of life, the “dance of life”.
To be modern does not mean to be separate.
As we have “developed and evolved” we have forgotten – we can barely vision for ourselves, let alone our community.
The rhythm of our community today is changing, big time – and the Earth calls to woman to hear that rhythm again, to hear the flow of change. The Earth calls to guide you and therefore all you are connected with, to flow with the changes and not resist them.
We invite you to come and enter in to the Earth, to spend time within her deep embrace to slow down the stream of chatter enough to hear the movement of life’s energies, to listen to her gentle whispers of new possibilities, so that you may be grounded, present and connected in the mists of these changing times.
In this time together we offer an Earth Ceremony which involves – spending twenty four hours in a womb-like structure partially in the Earth.
As women we have a tendency, through our sensitivity and connection to life (our ability to give birth), to carry/feel the grief of those suffering. We would release these energies through ritual and ceremony, and we would help the whole community to do so. Today we can still carry these pains, deep within our psyche. They can act on us unconsciously, draining our joy for life, dragging us down at times. We will work with releasing any grief’s you hold on behalf of the collective, your family and/or yourself, leaving you freer to engage with the energy of the Earth.
We will use practices, including a Sweat Lodge, to bring ourselves present and in a receptive mode, quieting the mind and sharpening the senses to spend time within the Earth.

HOLDING THE DREAM
A SHAMANIC RETREAT FOR WOMEN

 We do not create our own “reality”! “Reality” - the Dream of life is co-created. You are the Dreamer and the Dreamed. The dreamer is yourself and the Greater Cosmos. The Dream is everything we experience, it is our life. The Dreamtime is the energy realm from which the blueprint for the material/incarnate world comes.
During this weekend you will explore practices which subtly and playfully immerse you in the blueprint of the dream to help you be in good relation, creative and alive in life. Part of this will be time to relax, be in Nature and enjoy good food!
Shamanic Practices such as Shamanic Journeying, Crating, making a Dream Potion, Tibetan Bowls, Chinese Gongs, the elements of earth, water, fire and air, and just being, will help you to relax and let go of the ‘normal’ state of consciousness of every day life, to experience the peace and knowing of greater consciousness.
